The Abbababes Tribute Show PRESS RELEASE/BIOG.
The Abbababes Tribute Show was conceived in 2000 by
Stacy Collins and Sadie Jones.
These two professional singers had been very busy carving out a career in the world of music, but having a genuine love for Abba and encouraged by other tribute artistes who said they sounded "just like the real thing" they decided to create their own tribute to the Swedish icons and in so doing changed their own lives quite dramatically!
Many months were spent studying original Abba video footage and poring over books as well as listening to original recordings in order to recreate both the sound and the look of Abba, and so the Abbababes Tribute Show came together in a performance that can really be described as one person put it "Fantastic"!
The Abba Tribute world is a thriving and very industrious phenomenon, Abbababes now travel all over the UK and indeed the world, bringing their own unique style to every show performed, there is much fun to be had and as can be seen by the hundreds of pictures on their website www.abbababes.com people from all walks of life have not only embraced the chance to hear Abba's music played over and over again but have also taken Abbababes to their hearts.
You only need to read some of the fan mail to see how popular they have become.
Comments like "Abbababes were phenomenal" (Wilkin & Sons, Tiptree Jams), "More sparkling than the original"(The Leonard Cheshire Foundation) and "I want an Abbababe for Christmas!" (Terry Robinson, Social Secretary for Southwick Sports Club), all add to the Abbababes thriving popularity.
Glamour and glitz is definately the "Name of the Game" and every performance involves many costume changes all of which are copies of what the original band wore on stage, and so the hits of Abba are reproduced by loving attention to detail and wonderful harmonising from these two great singers.
The Abbababes duo is unique in that they perform without Benny and Bjorn and it is no drawback because at every performance there are many people all just dying for the chance to get on stage with the Abbababes and certainly have the time of their lives!
It seems that everyone wants to be a "Dancing Queen" so long may the fans keep Abbababes "on the road" and doing what they love best wherever in the world that may be.
The show has taken the girls to many exciting parts of the world working for Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, and also to the Middle East (Bahrain, Oman ) for many corporate events.
In June 2007 Abbababes were privileged to perform in Washington DC, USA for the largest law firm in DC, just 4 blocks from the White House! They have been invited back to the USA for 2008.
Abbababes are also mentioned as a top tribute to Abba in
“Like A Rolling Stone” a new book by Steve Kuritz.
Abbababes are proud to have appeared with Cannon & Ball in Summer Season at the Britannia Pier, Great Yarmouth 2008.
The show comes self-contained with PA/Backdrop/Lights and Sound Technician suitable for any size venue.
