Jez Franks (guitars) took up the guitar age 15 and attended Leeds College of Music from ’91-’94 acquiring a 1st in the Jazz, Popular and Contemporary Music Course, plus the College’s Jazz Guitar Prize. As well as being Senior Guitar Lecturer at Leeds College of Music and visiting Guitar Tutor/Examiner at the Royal Academy in London, he leads a Jazz quartet that has toured and recorded extensively. He has played with a variety of ensembles in jazz, pop and world music including Rick Astley, Henry Lowther, koby Israelite, Gerard Presencer, and Johnny Mayor (Indo Jazz Fusion) with performances at Jazz venues and festivals throughout Europe and the UK including Sines World Music Festival (Portugal), tours of Poland and Austria and a live broadcast for jazz on 3 in the UK…
