Alastair Penman is a saxophonist and clarinettist comfortable in any genre, but specialising in jazz and classical work. Alastair mainly works in London, Manchester, Cambridge and Buckinghamshire.

As a classical musician Alastair has had the pleasure of working with conductors including Sir Roger Norrington, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Baldur Bronnimann, David Hill, Stephen Cleobury, Peter Stark etc at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Symphony Hall, King's College Chapel (Cambridge) etc.

As a jazz musician Alastair has performed at prestigious events including Montreux and London Jazz Festivals and has performed numerous times at the Bull's Head, Barnes. Gigs abroad include at Budapest Jazz Club and Casa del Jazz (Rome). Alastair has had the pleasure of performing with artists including Mike Gibbs, Steve Waterman, Mark Nightingale, Gareth Lockrane and Issie Barratt.

Alastair has vast experience providing the perfect backdrop for parties, wedding receptions and other events. Previous clients include virtually all of the Colleges at Cambridge University (St John's, Clare, Jesus, Trinity, St Catharine's, Peterhouse, Gonville & Caius, Selwyn etc), Salon Prive (at the Hurlingham Club), Ernst and Young, Workplace Law etc.

Alastair is also available for studio work on all saxophones (sopranino/soprano/alto/tenor/baritone), clarinet and ewi.
