David took up the saxophone 20 years ago, and has gained a Diploma of the London College of Music in Jazz Saxophone Performance.

A specialist in jazz, David has completed courses in jazz saxophone, jazz ensemble and jazz performance at Richmond Jazz School, and has attended various jazz workshops and summer schools. Tutors he has studied under include Julian Siegel and Mark Lockheart.

Such expert tutelage is evident in David's distinctive, controlled yet emotional sound. Playing in a small ensemble and with a big band for several years enabled him to hone his individual style, with performances at well-known venues such as the Bulls Head, Barnes, Jagz in Ascot and the Windsor Arts Centre.

David's main instrument is the tenor saxophone, but he is also a competent alto saxophonist, and is able to play the flute to an intermediate standard. With a wide-ranging repertoire, David especially enjoys playing bebop, Latin, swing and blues, always injecting his bright personality into the music. He is happy to play either with or without a microphone, as part of a centrepiece jazz band or for discreet background music.

David is based just outside the M25 perimeter in Berkshire, and is available on a free-lance basis for corporate functions, wedding receptions, parties and other events in west London and south-east England.
