Since moving from her native Sweden to study at one of UK´s top musical conservatoires, Trinity College of Music, Emilia Martensson has successfully managed to forge a distinctive and unique niche for her vocal talents on the London Jazz scene.

Combining the influence of folk songs from her home land with some of the greatest songs of the last century, Emilia has lent her critically acclaimed sound and lyric writing skills to a wide variety of collaborative projects, most notably to the media lauded Kairos 4tet on their highly acclaimed debut album, Kairos Moment.

She is a regular performer on the U.K Jazz Scene and has performed at some of U.K’s most prestigious music venues such as Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, The Vortex and The 606 to name just a few. She has also made recent live appearances on Julian Joseph’s BBC 3 radio show and Gilles Peterson BBC 1 Radio show.

Her Debut Album "and so it goes..." is coming out on Babel Label in October 2011, which is a joint project together with piano player Barry Green.
