Emilia Martensson grew up in Sweden and developed an interest in music at a very early age. It was in her early teens that Emilia developed a passion for Jazz and at the age of 15 she was performing reguarly with her Jazz quintet. A year later she started running Jazz nights at her parents restaurang, which later developed in to becoming one of the leading Jazz venues in the area. “Illstorps Lustgård´s jazz nights” became a great platform for Emilia to develop her own band and also a great opportunity to get influences from some of Swedens greatest Jazz musicians. Emilia then decided to move to England at the age of 18 to continue her studies in music. After having spent two years at Colchester Institute, where she studied both Classical and Jazz, she moved to London to attend the Bmus Jazz course at Trinity College of music. She graduated in 2007 and has since then worked as a freelance musician in both London and Sweden.

In the U.K she has performed at The Cheltenham Jazz festival, The Isle of White Jazz festival, The Vortex, The Spice of Life, Pizza on the Park and Blackheath concert Halls to name a few.

Emilia is featured on “Soundspieces” new album as well as “Kairos 4tet” new album, both which are to be released this summer. Her main project at the moment is Liv Emilia Quintet feat. Sam Crowe,(Rhodes and Piano), Adam Waldmann,(Soprano and Tenor Sax) Dave Mannington,(Double Bass) and Josh Morrisson, (Drums).
