Biography

The Funk Federation is a 7- 11 piece funk and soul band of the highest quality. A blend of timeless funk, soul, R&B, acid jazz, rare groove and disco, performed by experienced, charismatic musicians of unrivalled ability, provides a musical journey fit for any occasion.

The standard 7 piece line-up of male and female lead vocals, saxophone, keyboards, guitar, bass and drums is expandable anywhere up to an incredible 11 piece outfit featuring a full brass section backing vocals and percussion.

Fully self-sufficient, providing professional PA and full light show, The Funk Federation has appeared throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East infectiously entertaining private clients and huge crowds alone and alongside successful artists such as Boney M, Rose Royce, Womack and Womack, the late great Edwin Star and Jimmy James and the vagabonds.

"I would just like to express my appreciation for the exceptional performance The Funk Federation provided on Saturday (05/03/05) night at our owner’s ball. The band arrived in ample time and was sound checked and set up 40mins before the guests arrived. From beginning to end their sets were none stop party with the singer engaging with the audience and getting them involved in the singing. By the end of the first set almost all of the audience were up dancing. The feedback from the guests was fantastic. The bands approach to their work is very professional and they are a pleasure to work with. I would recommend this band to any potential client."

"What more can I say. The Funk Federation are brilliant. They made my party something really special. My family and friends will be talking about them for many years to come. I cannot recommend them enough. The dancing started with their first song and continued right through till their last. My only regret is not videoing the day so I could hear their music again and again. Thank you Funk Federation for a fabulous day and also making me the no.1 party organiser!!! And a special thanks from my 4 year old nephew Jack who is still telling people he sang with a real band!!!!"

"We absolutely loved what you did for us for our wedding night; you were also professional we couldn't believe our luck! We felt you made our evening. We have just finished watching a video that someone taped during the evening and everyone (including us) was having such a great time on the dance floor. "The Funk Federation….what a fantastic group A professional team from the outset – from preparation to final customer satisfaction. They kept a mixed audience of 1-70 year olds entertained over a four hour performance of wide ranging repertoire of top hits from the last 3 decades. The music programme was “tailored to our request and provided a perfect accompaniment to a 60th birthday celebration. The music gave great presence to the occasion and provided at different times, mood, sentiment, excitement and “pizz-az”! There was non-stop dancing and even a month after the event we are still receiving great comments about the band’s fantastic sound. Well done!"
