Lloyd studied at the Royal College of Music in London, and later obtained a Master of Music degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

He has performed at many prestigious venues including St Martin in the Fields and St James' Piccadilly in London, the Colston Hall and St Georges' Brandon Hill in Bristol, and the Symphony Hall in Birmingham. He has professionally recorded two solo CD's of music by Bortkiewicz and Alkan for Amemptos Music.

In addition to working as a soloist, Lloyd is frequently in demand as an accompanist. He has worked on a wide range of repertoire, with styles as diverse as baroque opera, German lieder and Cole Porter. Between November 2007 and July 2008, he held the post of accompanist to the Bristol Schools Chamber Choir, which has a national reputation as one of the country's leading youth choirs. He has also accompanied at Australia House and the Royal Academy of Music in London, and at St Georges Brandon Hill and the Colston Hall in Bristol.
Lloyd frequently accompanies for exams and competitions, and was the official vocal accompanist at the Weston-Super-Mare Junior Arts Festival in 2008.
In addition, Lloyd also has experience of accompanying for dance, and curently works at the Northern Ballet School in Manchester.

Lloyd is also experienced at providing background music for weddings, receptions and parties.
