You never were there, that’s the truth of it.
Those distant nights in Vegas. Lights dimmed. The Rich, the Beautiful and the Well Connected, sipping dry martinis, held in thrall by the cool, sophisticated swing of the Big Band Legends.
Now, however, your chance is come.
Swing City breathes new life into the sumptuous melodies of the Big Band era, paying joyful homage to the music of its heroes.
Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Andy Williams.
The ‘Rat Pack’ greats too: Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis; as well as the hip, happening stars who’ve followed them, like Michael Bublé and Harry Connick Jnr.
With inspired playing and consummate professionalism, Swing City takes the arm of any event, social or corporate, and leads it on a stylish, swinging journey to the dance floor.
Swing City can turn up the heat and finish the night with a set of Pop, Soul and Disco classics, all performed with their trademark authenticity and enthusiasm.
For weddings, the band will always endeavour to perform the couple’s choice of first dance, regardless of whether or not it is already in the repertoire (as long as it is appropriate for the line up that is used). Recorded background music can be played between the sets if required.
They normally perform up to three 50 minute sets over a maximum of five hours.
Choice of line ups:
8-piece (tpt, 2x sax, tbn, pno, gtr, bs, dms)
9-piece (vox, tpt, 2x sax, tbn, pno, gtr, bs, dms)
10-piece (2x vox, tpt, 2x sax, tbn, pno, gtr, bs, dms)

Setting up the equipment takes approximately 90 minutes (depending on the accessibility of the venue). During which time the band requires unrestricted access to the area, and that the room is clear of any guests.
A hot meal and soft drinks should be provided for each person, or £15 per person added to the fee. A lockable room for the band to change and store valuables in should also be made available - toilets are not suitable for this.
The band carries a PA, lighted music stands, and a small rack of disco lights. The PA that is used is suitable for events of up to 200 people. For larger events, a separate PA company should be used.
The band requires a space of 5m x 4m in which to set up and perform. Staging is not essential although preferred. A safe 15amp power supply should be available within 5m of the performance area.
Because of the size and nature of the band, it is not suitable for small rooms or for rooms that have sound limiters set below 100db.
