Equally at home performing for a marquee of 500 diners, or for an intimate gathering in a day care centre, they play a mixture of popular music genres from days gone by swapping between guitar, banjo, violin, ukulele and vocal duties.

When you book The Old Time String Band, 1920s jazz, blues and music hall classics will be heard alongside 1930s and 40s swing, gypsy jazz, big band and WW2 songs. American bluegrass songs will be heard as well as foot-stomping hoedowns and traditional English, Irish and Scottish celidh tunes, with the intention of providing a range of music that is sure to please.

Since 2006 the group has played a great many shows including: weddings, functions, restuarants, bars, WW2 recreation events, festivals, cabarets, day care centres, pubs, bars and the like in places ranging between Scotland, Newcastle, Leeds, Norwich, London, Brighton, Anglesey and the Lake District.
