About / Biography

Andrew is a UK based musician with a heart felt passion for teaching, recording and performance on the saxophone. Andrew began his musical journey in his early school years and went on to attend Hillingdon Music School in London. Here he developed a deep passion for jazz and began honing his craft. Andrew continued his journey joining with a number of bands across London performing varied styles including jazz, gospel and soul.

In parallel to his musical pursuits Andrew set his focus on developing and nurturing skills in design and music production by completing a degree in Multimedia Technology & Design at Brunel University, West London. His pursuit led him to achieve a First Class Honours Degree. During his time at university Andrew would be found juggling design work and music rehearsals with students on music courses broadening his knowledge of the subject and keeping his passion alive.

Andrew plays soprano, alto and tenor saxophones. His repertoire consists of a range of classic jazz, contemporary jazz, Gospel jazz, and self written pieces. Andrew's musical influences include Kirk Whalum, Courtney Pine, Sonny Rollins, Keith & Kristyn Getty, Charlie Parker, Grover Washington Jr and Steve Cole.

Andrew currently keeps himself busy performing across the UK, recording his own music and sharing his passion for the saxophone through teaching students privately. He continues to work diligently in pursuit of sustained excellence in his crafts - performing, teaching, writing and recording contemporary and gospel jazz music.

Testimonials...

"Andrew played at my 50th birthday celebration and from the moment he blew his first note, the room was filled with soft, smooth jazz - creating an atmosphere of mellowness. His style of playing complimented the mood of the event very well while adding a touch of class at the same time. His presentation and professionalism was outstanding - definitely one to consider if you're looking for that extra special ingredient to your event." - Caroline Clarke (Birthday)

"I honestly don’t know where to start. We had a few phone calls and message exchanges with Andrew in the lead up to our wedding which were fantastic. From the first call, everything was made so easy and suggestions were made to us that made sense. On the actual day, it was a pleasure to meet Andrew. All of the timings were kept to perfection, the music choices were phenomenal, but most importantly, Andrew is an absolutely amazing person. He is so kind and friendly, and always had a smile on his face. He spent time talking to a few guests, whom by the way were complimenting him all night. I would recommend Andrew to anyone. Such a unique personality. I’m sure I may have missed out a few compliments but hopefully I have fitted the most important bits in! Thank you so much again Andrew, very much appreciated, and I’m so glad you also enjoyed the day too!" Rickesh & Krishna

"Wow! What a great day everyone had with Andrew playing the saxophone at Arley Hall. People dancing while having reception drinks. Andrew just made the event so exclusive and even now people are asking where did I find such a fab musician. He added soul to our event and we would definetly want him at any future events we have. Just amazing TALENT! Thank you again Andrew. XXX" - Charlotte Winney (Wedding)

"Thank you Andrew for bringing your charm and sweet songs of jazz to the delight of our guest and making our wedding day special by playing our favourite songs with passion. Your warm soulful mood set the bar high as the audience cheered and rose to their feet to dance. Loved your professional way and attention of playing to suit all age groups. Andrew you truly are a credit to your profession." - Mr & Mrs Walker (Wedding)

"Andrew was absolutely amazing! A lovely, polite and professional man who played extremely well. The room Andrew was playing in was quite small and so I asked for him to play 'background' music rather as the guest were relatively close - he listened and amended his set based on the room change. Many people complimented Andrew after the event and we would happily invite him to play again!" - Emily Landless (Conference)

"Andrew is an amiable and very likeable guy . It was a relaxed family and friends event and Andrew's playing really set the scene. He is extremely talented and his passion and versatile playing of the saxophone was very impressive. I would have no hesitation in recommending him for any event." - Ann Johnson (60th Birthday)

"Andrew played the saxophone for us at my wife's 30th birthday party, which was a boat party on the river Thames. The standard of his musicianship was excellent and his smooth and uplifting jazz tones really helped create a wonderful atmosphere for the event. Andrew was very flexible and friendly to deal with. I would highly recommend his services." - Patrick Ansah (Birthday)
