Marcella, Stephanie and Kate combine their impressive vocal talents to bring you The Puppini Sisters. International chart-toppers, The Puppini Sisters enjoy success around the globe following the release of their two critically acclaimed albums, ‘Betcha Bottom Dollar’ (2006) and their current release, ‘The Rise And Fall Of Ruby Woo’ (2007). Citing the ‘Sister’ groups of the 1930’s/40’s such as the Andrews Sisters and The Boswell Sisters, as their initial inspiration, The Puppini’s have gone on to develop their own unique style of vocal-harmony based music.
Not only are the girls experienced recreationists they have also been affectionately embraced for their re-workings of pop-cult classics such as Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’, Kate Bush’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ and The Bangles ‘Walk Like An Egyptian’, to name but a few. Their latest album, ‘The Rise And Fall Of Ruby Woo’ also sees the girls tackling an impressive array of self-penned compositions too. With a distinctive sense of aesthetic flair to match, expect a modern take on the old-school Hollywood glamour inspired by the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Joan Crawford and Rita Hayworth where impeccable hair, red lip and cinched waists come as standard.
All this and supported on-stage by an appropriately clad and highly skilled trio of jazz musicians on drums, double bass and guitar, The Puppini Sisters will add a magical sense of style, glamour and tongue-in-cheek humour to any occasion.
