Sam Braysher is a freelance saxophonist and teacher. He recently graduated with a first class honours degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he studied jazz saxophone with Martin Hathaway, Jean Toussaint, Malcolm Miles, Mark Hanslip and Carlos Lopez-Real, classical saxophone with Christian Foreshaw, and flute and clarinet with Nick Moss. Whilst at the Guildhall School Sam performed with Jacqui Dankworth, Stan Sulzmann, Mark Lockheart, Bobby Wellins, Phil Robson, Christine Tobin, Malcolm Edmonstone, Marvin Stamm, Henry Lowther and Julian Joseph, and participated in masterclasses with Dave Liebman, John Scofield, Christian McBride, Mark Turner, Danilo Perez, Marcus Roberts and Randy Brecker.

The Sam Braysher Quartet won the UK Jazz Radio Young Performers' Award 2010.

As well as performing at jazz clubs and festivals, Sam also regularly provides music for corporate events, weddings, drinks receptions and parties in London and further afield with a wide variety of small ensembles.

Sam is available as a solo saxophonist or with a duo (sax and piano/guitar/double bass), trio (sax, piano/guitar and double bass), quartet (sax, piano/guitar, double bass and drums) or quintet (sax, vocals, piano/guitar, double bass and drums). Sam also plays tenor saxophone, clarinet and flute and has a wide experience of woodwind doubling work in big bands, shows and function bands.
